We still cannot believe that we experienced Marrakech! Our time in Morocco was an absolute dream come true. We’re so thankful that Unique Morocco was able to help us facilitate this adventure. We had so much fun working with them! Moha helped us plan our trip and he’s been nothing short of amazing. We were in contact with Moha months before our arrival in Marrakech. He answered all of our questions and ensured that we had a safe and fun journey. Thank you, Moha!
Our day started with our tour guide, Abdeslam picking us up right at the riad. We were looking forward to exploring the city of Marrakech on foot with our lovely guide.
We spent most of our time in the Medina (Old town). There was so much to see and we wandered through the souks for a long time. The streets were narrow and you had to stay alert because there were a lot of motorbikes flying by. It was so cool to see so many of the artisans working right in front of us. We saw all kinds of people baking, welding, sewing and working on their respective crafts. We loved this part!
We visited Palais Bahia which is located in the Jewish quarter of the medina. It was absolutely exquisite. I could have stood admiring the tiled detailing on the ceilings and walls for hours. This place was absolutely beautiful. A must see on your adventure to Morocco.
Place Jemaa El Fna is the main square in Marrakech. Here you can find a lot of snake charmers. We’re terrified of snakes so we steered clear of them, but you could get your picture taken with them if you wanted. We used this square as a landmark and made sure that we always knew where we were in relation to it.
We also took some time to explore Jardin Majorelle. The bright, bold coloured buildings are astounding. You can find different plants from all over the world in the gardens. A must-see!
The food in Morocco was some of the best food we’ve ever had. The salads were delicious and we would eat tagine every single day if we could. We had lunch at El Bahja and it was amazing. We would highly recommend this restaurant. The prices are extremely affordable. Our tour guide noted that it was a clean and safe place to eat. We ended up going back the next day too. It’s just off of Place Jemaa El Fna.
Exploring Marrakech with Unique Morocco was more than we could have ever hoped for – thank you. We can’t wait to go back one day. This city has changed our lives and we will forever treasure all of the memories.
xoxo,
linds
