This summer I’ve picked 5 books that I want to read and share with you. I’m writing up my Summer 2021 Reading List in the hopes of inspiring you to give these books a try too. I haven’t read any of these books at the time I am writing this, so I won’t have much to say about them yet. When I finish them all, hopefully by Fall, I will try to come back and give an update on how I enjoyed all of the books on this list!
I was at the thrift store a little while ago and snagged this book off the shelf as soon as I spotted it. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn was a huge hit almost 10 years ago. Gillian Flynn is an incredibly well-known and successful author but I have yet to read any of her work. I watched the HBO Series “Sharp Objects” which was based on one of her books and I loved the style and genre, so I anticipate that I will enjoy this book.
The Two of Us by Andy Jones has been sitting on my bookshelf, unread, for quite some time. I don’t know what to expect with this novel, but I thought it was about time I give it a go.
Next up in my mission to read all the guilty pleasure books by my first ever favourite author is You Belong to Me by Mary Higgins Clark. This title sounds so familiar I’m convinced I read this before, but the jacket description doesn’t ring a bell. I’m excited about this read because these books are always page-turners.
In May, I started Gill Whelan’s Whelan Wellness Virtual Bootcamp in an effort to get more active and develop a healthier relationship with food and physical activity. Gill recommended The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins right off the bat at the bootcamp meet-n-greet so I’m excited to give it a go.
My Mom’s favourite author is Stephen King. She’s always wanted me to read his books but I’ve never prioritized it. I’m not even sure if I’ve ever read a horror novel before. Recently, I was on Facebook Marketplace and saw that someone in my town was giving away a box of Stephen King books for FREE and I was lucky enough to score it. I decided to start with Under the Dome.
Come back in a few months for the update!
