During our recent ski weekend in Jasper, we stayed at the Mount Robson Inn. Located on the western edge of town, right on your way to Marmot Basin, the Mount Robson Inn is a modern yet rustic accommodation and the perfect place to crash after a long day of skiing. I’m here to tell you all about our experience staying at this modern motel.
The Mount Robson Inn offers a lot of amenities, but especially for those on a winter getaway. They’ve also done a great job adapting to Covid-19 regulations and their motel-style rooms (that is, rooms that are accessed from the outside rather than indoor hallways) also make for a Covid-friendly holiday. Skiers and snowboarders can avail of their waxing room and outdoor gear lockers, which is a unique luxury, even in a mountain town. During booking, we were extremely intrigued by their rooftop hot tubs that overlook the mountains– but sadly, these had been closed due to Covid-19 by the time we arrived for our stay.
Our room was clean, comfortable, and modern. We opted for a single queen room and while it was small, it was perfect for our needs as we really just wanted a nice place to wind down after an exhausting day on the slopes. Our room had a large TV with cable channels, a comfy armchair, a microwave, a coffeemaker and kettle, a fridge, and lots of storage. The bathroom was spacious, only separated from the rest of the room by sliding glass doors, with a huge shower.
Let’s talk about cost and booking. We initially looked at the “Ski Jasper’s Marmot Basin” package, which includes lift tickets and breakfast. After doing some math, we realized that with our Marmot Basin Escape Card, we could get 50% off our lift tickets and 15% off our hotel stay. We ended up going this route and booking the “Winter Warm Up in Jasper” package at 15% off. Overall, we saved $300 compared to the Inn’s ski-and-stay package, which isn’t actually that great of a deal. The package we purchased also included some super cute keepsake mugs as well as free breakfast both mornings. Parking is also included in your stay.
The takeaway breakfast was deadly. Lots of variety, quick and easy, and great to eat on our way to the hill. Each of us had a breakfast sandwich, yogurt, a granola bar, a muffin, a slice of loaf cake, a fruit cup, a piece of fruit, a juice box, and coffee on both mornings. It was more than enough food and we were able to snack on it throughout each day of skiing and driving.
We would definitely recommend the Mount Robson Inn to our readers for your ski weekend, a romantic getaway, or just because. It’s clean, a good value for money, and the staff were friendly and easy to deal with.
Happy travels!
