As I travelled up the east coast of Australia, I landed in Brisbane. I was extremely fortunate to crash with our family friends who just so happen to live outside of the city. It was the perfect home base to check out Brisbane and the surrounding tourist attractions.
I really enjoyed exploring the streets of Brisbane. It’s a beautiful, clean and walkable city. With views of the skyline and the river, it made for a nice day of exploring. Walk across the Story bridge, check out the museums in South Bank and stroll through the Botanic Gardens. Plus, I found a gluten free/dairy free donut so that really seals the deal, you know? My favourite place in Brisbane was the Eat Street Northshore Market. It’s a “foodie” paradise. It’s basically a collection of shipping containers that have been turned into food kiosks and little shops. It’s a little village of amazing food and entertainment. They had so many allergy friendly options. Being allergic to gluten and dairy had proved quite difficult in Hong Kong but arriving at Eat Street was absolute heaven. I had linds-friendly, vegan chocolate fondue with strawberries, Chinese dumplings, fried potato chips, macarons and Vietnamese spring rolls. Let me tell you by the time we left, I was rolling out of there. It was the best food experience ever! Seriously GO GO GO. Grab your friends, a drink and try something new. You can’t go wrong!
