With the holiday season right around the corner, we’re all starting to think about what we’re going to get for our dearest friends and family. Or maybe you have a staff party or secret Santa coming up and you’re stumped. Maybe you need some inspiration for your own wishlist! Whatever your reason for clicking into this article, you’re about to get exactly what you came for. Here is our list of gift ideas for people who love to travel (or have their first ever trip coming up!)
Airline Voucher — if you know someone who loves to travel, what better gift than credit toward their next flight?
Watercolour Map — if you’re more of a handmade gift type of person, this is a great gift idea. Choose your loved one’s favourite vacation destination or their home-sweet-home. Print off the map and fill it in with watercolour paint.
Here’s my attempt. I really like how it turned out! The recipient will really appreciate the time and thought you’ve put into their gift.
Cocktail Kit — I know when I’m headed on vacay I like to have a little sip of something boozy to get me hyped up (or to help me deal with the person snoring next to me!) and I like to think I’m not the only person who feels this way. But who wants to pay airline prices? Get your fun-loving travel buddy a CATSA/TSA-approved carry-on cocktail kit and they’ll feel like they’re in first class. I received one for my birthday this year and love it. Unfortunately, the one I have has been discontinued, but you can check out these from W&P Designs.
Scratch Map — Everyone has a way that they keep track of where they’ve been. It could be scrapbooks, postcards, sand or rock collections, souvenirs…for me and a lot of people I know, it’s the now infamous scratch map. Grab one here. I love the classic gold, but they have lots of sizes and colours to choose from!
Staycation — Grab a gift certificate for a local hotel, inn, or guest house and get your busiest bestie a staycation. They will truly appreciate the chance to get away without the huge commitment of a trip abroad. For Newfoundlanders, my suggestion would be Whale House in Mobile (here’s more about this guest house!)
Jewellery Case — Nothing is more annoying than having your necklaces tangle or losing an earring while on vacation. This one by Mejuri is dainty and gorgeous.
Document Holder — For the unorganized person in your life, get a sleek case that will keep their essential documents safe while they’re bustling through busy streets and airports. I love this one from Flight 001.
What didn’t make my list that you would have included? I would love to hear about and try your favourite items for travellers! We love hearing from our readers!
