It’s no surprise that I spend a lot of time in airports. I love jet-setting around the world and I tend to book a lot of early morning flights. Recently, the Alt Hotel in Halifax invited me to stay with them. I was so excited because the hotel is located right beside the airport. You can literally walk from door to door in about a minute. It’s the perfect place to catch a little shut eye before your flight.
I was given a beautiful corner room (1102) and there were two huge windows overlooking the airport in the corner of the room. I could have sat there for hours and simply watched the planes take off and land. It was mesmerizing. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels in Europe and the loft style decor of the Alt reminded me of my travels around the world. I love the style of this hotel – it feels like home. It’s so cozy, cute and relaxing while still being fresh and hip. The room was everything I had hoped for and more. The Alt team even left us the sweetest card and photo in the room. (Thank you!) Plus, I kid you not I had one of the best sleeps of my life in that bed. It was so comfortable!
The hotel has a fully functioning bar with a happy hour from 4-7pm every day. We highly recommend a vodka cran and a game of pool. The layout of the hotel is so great because even the common spaces feel private. Take advantage of the gym for a pre-flight workout and the pool for a refreshing dip. 
It was strange being so close to the airport and not getting on a plane. I was so tempted to just hop on the next flight. But, it was a lovely girls night with one of my best friends. We had the best spread of snacks and a new episode of Riverdale on the go. It was the perfect way to unwind and relax.
