When I stumbled upon Lace Brick Design, based in Alberta, I instantly fell in love. They carry gorgeous designs and adventure gear for every outdoor girl at heart. I was so excited to get my hands on a couple beanies for when I’m exploring outdoors and necklaces to remind me where my heart lies when I’m not. I genuinely can’t wait to make my next purchase from Lace Brick Design (and to dress my friends’ babies in Baby Brick!!). Keep reading for some adventure-spiration.
My day in the woods started with a hike in Terra Nova National Park. Myself, my mom, my sis, and my Goldendoodle, Jack, tackled the Louil Hill loop which offers breathtaking views of the park and Alexander Bay. Lots of hills and stairs make for a killer workout as well. My LBD ‘Mountain Girl’ toque kept my head warm since April is still pretty chilly in Newfoundland!
Later that day, I hopped on the quad (ATV or 4-wheeler for the non-Newfies out there!) and took the back trails up to our cozy cabin for the night. There is nothing better than getting off the grid, sitting around a woodstove, and having a cup of Tetley tea with lots of Carnation milk and sugar. We don’t exactly have ‘the mountains’ in Newfoundland– we have lots of hills and mediocre mountains but nothing like the Rockies or the Alps. Our idea of being in ‘the mountains’ is being as far into the woods as your bike and your two feet can get you; being so deep in the trees that you can’t possibly see a highway or even a dirt road. Lace Brick Design is the perfect aesthetic for those kinds of days.
I haven’t taken off my LBD ‘Alpine’ necklace since it came in the mail. It reminds me of how I am a wanderer at heart (just like my shirt says!) and how I always feel best in the great outdoors. It also inspires me to never stop exploring– even on the days when I’m trudging around the halls at school or in the library trying to finish a research paper. It is so dainty and pretty; yet sturdy and high-quality, so I’m not afraid to wear it on rough terrain.
Whether I’m stacking wood or curled up with a good book, boiling the kettle over an open fire or simply staring up at the open sky, I’ll always be at peace in the outdoors. And the further away from civilization the better! Being in nature makes me genuinely happy and Lace Brick Design has the perfect garments, accessories, and gear to help me embrace it all.
