Happy Friday!! I cannot believe there are only two more Fridays until school starts back up. If you haven’t gotten those summer adventures in, now is the time to do it. Stop procrastinating! Here is a roundup of some of the NL adventures I’ve written about over the past year. I hope this post gives you some inspiration for how you’ll spend your weekend!
If you haven’t been over there yet, start packing. It is so beautiful! Breathtaking views, great hiking trails, and fun campgrounds.
Get ready for a day of gorgeous coastline— everything from sharp cliffs to sea stacks to thousands of puffins on a rock. Plus the best pizza of your life…so how can you go wrong?
One of Newfoundland’s coolest natural wonders! Stop by Shallow Bay Beach along the way and make a whole day of it. Don’t forget to get a sweet pic for Insta!
Although icebergs are few and far between this late in the year, sea kayaking is still a great idea. Paddle through caves, watch sea birds, and you’ll likely even see a few whales! OceanQuest Adventures is the place to book your sea kayaking adventure.
If you can’t get out of the city for some reason, that’s okay. Try out a new walking trail that you haven’t before, such as Kent’s Pond Path or Quidi Vidi Lake trail! You won’t even feel like you’re in the city.
This is one of the best times of the year to see humpback, minky, and fin whales here in Newfoundland. Take a ride out to Witless Bay with O’Brien’s Boat Tours and you’re almost guaranteed to get a show.
Last but certainly not least, head out around NL’s hidden gem, the Irish Loop. Try to get a picnic booked at the Ferryland Lighthouse and don’t miss Salmonier Nature Park. What are you waiting for?
We hope this article gave you some serious wanderlust. Don’t waste this weekend, because there are few left before routines and responsibilities take over our lives. (And I know next weekend y’all will be at the Blake Shelton concert!!)
Have fun and let us know what you get up to on social media, @twowildtides!
