Summertime is just around the corner in Halifax! We’re all excited for the sunshine, ice cream, and waterfront adventures. But most importantly we can’t wait to welcome all of the tourists to our favourite little city. Halifax has the city feel while still feeling very community oriented. Plus, Halifax is right on the water (BONUS!).
One of our favourite places to stay in Halifax is The Halliburton. It’s situated in the ideal location, is minutes from the waterfront, and it’s supporting a local Halifax business. The Morris Street location is perfect for all of your vacation needs. The Halliburton is not a big chain hotel but rather a boutique hotel that will make you feel right at home. The rooms are situated in three historic townhouses. The quaint rooms allow you to really relax and experience Halifax your way.
The staff is absolutely incredible! They will go out of their way to meet all of your needs. We were even able to get some wine glasses to take to the room. The customer service was excellent. There was also a small library (super comfy!) and they had DVDs that could be borrowed. The back courtyard wasn’t in season while we were there but it looks like the perfect place to enjoy a cold one on a hot summer day.
Our room was on the third floor of the Lithgow townhouse. We stayed in room 306. It was lovely. It had a large queen bed, sitting area, bathroom and another single bed tucked away in its own little room. The beds were extremely comfortable and cozy. Our room could have slept three. There was also a little coffee maker in the sitting area. It was perfect! It was everything we could have asked for and more. We really loved our one night stay here.
The hotel provides a continental breakfast with cereal, toast, fruit, boiled eggs, baked beans, and drinks. It’s the perfect, stress-free way to start a morning of exploring. Also, be sure to check out Stories Restaurant at The Halliburton. The food looks and sounds absolutely delicious. The menu has a lovely East Coast flair and is the perfect spot for a date night!
From our door to the waterfront was no more than a 5-minute walk. The Morris street location was perfect because everything was within walking distance but it was in a quiet part of the city. The Discovery Centre is just down the street about 5 minutes, Neptune Theatre is no more than a 10-minute walk, and you’re within steps of some of the tastiest restaurants in Halifax.
We highly recommend you check out The Halliburton next time you’re looking for a place to stay in Halifax. Choose from various guest rooms and suites, there is something for everyone. Happy Summer Vacationing!
Thank you to the whole team at The Halliburton for the wonderful opportunity! It was an absolute pleasure!
