What’s the best way to spend Earth Day?
OUTSIDE!
We spent Earth Day hiking at Duncan’s Cove. It was absolutely stunning! We love to be outside as much as possible especially when we’re next to the ocean. Nothing can compare to the fresh salt air. It’s renewing.
It’s about a 30-minute drive from Halifax to the beginning of the hike. The hike takes a couple hours and the trail is all along the coastline. It can be a little rugged at times so watch your step. We also ran into a lot of dogs on the trail. It’s a great place to get outside with your pet!
There’s also part of a WWII bunker at the end of the hike. This bunker was used during the war to protect and keep an eye on the entrance to Halifax Harbour.
This hike is absolutely stunning and it needs to be on your summer to-do list! Enjoy the sounds and smells of the ocean while getting a workout. Bring some snacks and take your time. It’s a beautiful location and a great place to do some thinking. So what are you waiting for? Go to Duncan’s Cove!
