We had the absolute pleasure of a one-night getaway at the Oceanstone Seaside Resort. This lovely resort is located in Indian Harbour, only 40 minutes from Halifax and about 75 minutes from the Annapolis Valley. It’s the ideal location for weddings, corporate meetings and of course a staycation.
The property is stunning! It’s truly a beautiful and magical escape from the stress of everyday life. Oceanstone Seaside Resort is far enough outside of the city to allow for complete relaxation. Plus, it’s right on the ocean! Take a stroll along the beach (the freezing cold temperatures didn’t stop us!) and soak up the salt air. There’s something rejuvenating about being surrounded by nature and within a stone’s throw of the ocean. This getaway will give you the chance to chill out and regroup.
We stayed in Rhubarb Suite #5 a spacious room with a fantastic large patio. The room was beautiful and there was a bottle of wine and a cute notecard waiting for us! We loved our stay, the room was comfortable and the perfect destination for a one night staycation. The patio is great for sipping that summer time wine as the sunsets or enjoying the view from inside on the colder nights. This suite also has access to a shared kitchenette area complete with a microwave, fridge, and coffee/tea. It’s conveniently located right above the Rhubarb Restaurant as well. One thing we really loved about the property was the diverse accommodations. The resort has a wonderful charm, due in part to the different rooms, suites, and cottages.
Get your taste buds ready because the Rhubarb Restaurant is absolutely delicious! The food is fresh, locally-sourced and served with an ocean view. It doesn’t get much better than that. They’re also extremely accommodating and had a lot of options for me (gf & df). I was able to enjoy their “r” Beet Salad and the Lawrencetown Beach Pizza with goat cheese. Also pictured below is the Crispy Haddock (I’m told that it was delicious too!). If that’s not enough, they also have live music events every Friday evening!
There are also plenty of hiking trails, beaches, and attractions nearby. Peggy’s Cove is only a five-minute drive away. The stunning landscapes and views at Peggy’s Cove are a must on your trip at Oceanstone Seaside Resort. Snap some photographs, walk up to the lighthouse and enjoy the fresh air. (*Don’t go too close to the water, stay off the wet/dark coloured rocks. It’s SO dangerous and not worth the risk.) Enjoy the stunning views from a distance. Bundle up when visiting in the winter, the views are just as beautiful but the wind is brisk. If you’re visiting in the summer pack a picnic lunch and soak up the rays! Stay safe. We also stopped at the Swissair 111 Memorial near Peggy’s Cove. In 1998, 229 people lost their lives in a horrific and devastating plane crash. We paused for a moment at the memorial to pay our respects. It’s definitely worth the stop.
Our staycation at Oceanstone Seaside Resort was everything we imagined and more. If you’re looking for a Nova Scotian getaway; this place is for you. We can’t wait to go back again! Thanks to the whole team for the amazing stay!
*They offer a special 15% discount for guests 60+ too!
